So, this week has definitely been a busy one! I was invited to speak at Oklahoma State University by the School of Fine Art’s Director and I was honored to accept the invite. My schedule consisted of a visit to the Oklahoma City Memorial Museum, a talk open to the campus, critique of student work and a talk to the graduate students about their research. I think I love that I was able to not only enlighten, but be enlightened by students. That’s why I love education and the environments that we as professors can shape. I will have to do a YouTube video on my experience thus far as a professor, perhaps focused on being a unicorn in my field, a Black woman. I hope that my exhibit will be featured on the campus of OSU and I look forward to more conferences to showcase my work in the Black community.
